Guarding gates
Two intriguing birds guard a gate,
Before they know it it’s too late.
One senses danger and goes out to find,
Since both of their families are left behind.
That one intriguing bird stays put and guard,
The separating gate from the easy life to the hard.
But wait... what’s this… he starts to leave,
To help his buddy in forests of trees.
Couple minutes later another bird comes in,
To guard and stop any bad from coming in.
But it was too late he was sucked in,
With bribery, and hate, and so much sin.
The two earlier guarding birds come right back,
But flee from a vile attack.
The battle between good and bad are still in sight,
I close my eyes and see the red and orange bird still in fight.
Their born with courage and mind so bright,
Fighting against the dark with light,
Scaring all darkness with it’s own fright.this poem was based on these two birds outside my window. they rested on the gate that was separating my backyard from the forest. its really hard to base a poem on two birds that tend to move back and forth. so i had to use my imagination to put this all together. at this time it was the fourth of July and the fire crackers were scaring them. so here's a song i thought about while writing this.
